One of our Leadership and Development consultants, Liz O’Connell, has been at the forefront of progressing our apprenticeships and compliance work towards virtual learning. She talks about the challenges Covid 19 has bought, not only to herself, but the business as a whole.
“As many of our leadership programmes are apprenticeships, it was important for us to ensure that all our compliance requirements were accurate. We have created learning plans for each learner to help them to continue applying their learning at work or if they were on furlough leave, they could continue learning at home through our digital learning hub, attending virtual workshops or wider research.”
This provided the continuity of learning throughout this period and helped learners to stay on track. Liz goes on to explain how the fast-paced change in delivery has resulted in positive outcomes.
“The fast track implementation of our digital learning hub enabled me to learn about how to make learning interactive and enjoyable when it is delivered online and virtually. I don’t think I had considered how different virtual workshops would be to deliver compared to face to face workshops, but now I am becoming an expert in Microsoft Teams and Zoom!”
We’re always looking to improve the business at Aspire that brings regular opportunities to diversify our role and stretch our skillsets. Liz gives us an insight into her recent achievements and future plans.
“As well as looking after my existing apprenticeship groups and delivering some commercial workshops, I have recently delivered a Career Management webinar which was an experience! I’m also completing a Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
I have worked closely with our Quality Manager to make sure that I apply my learning regarding the way we assess our learners is of a high standard. I am looking forward for the challenge ahead and to build on my current skillset.”
